Crowned in 1058, King Malcolm was nicknamed “Canmore”
meaning “Great Chief” by his people. The first in a noble
house fated to rule over Scotland for many years, his bold
and courageous leadership heralded a prosperous era for his
kingdom.

An ambitious and brave king, Malcolm made many attempts to
expand his kingdom. It was during one of his many invasions
that Malcolm met his end. Malcolm may have only reigned as
King of Scotland for 35 years, but his boldness, integrity, courage,
strength and valour were forever ingrained in the Canmore
legacy.

Canmore dynasty.
